BACK TO YOUR ROOTS 2022: An Ecological Approach to Farm Profitability

EROS, Louisiana (September 12, 2022) – Campti Field of Dreams is pleased to bring you three leaders in regenerative agriculture, Amy Weeks, Steve Campbell, and Jesse Frost as part of the Back to Your Roots 2022 Masters’ Series this Fall.

Beekeeping: Honey Production, Extraction & Marketing with Master Craftsman Beekeeper, Amy Weeks. In addition to managing 90 colonies, selling bees, honeybee queens, honey and hive products, Amy works internationally on USAID projects teaching beekeeping in developing countries. This 1-Day workshop will introduce you to how beekeeping can be incorporated into your existing farm plan to increase profitability. The event will be held at DeLaTerre Permaculture Farm, 9338 Highway 34 in Eros, Louisiana on Saturday, September 17. The cost is $30 and includes lunch.

Livestock Production with Steve Campbell. Steve Campbell has been in the cattle industry all of his life and understands building soil health- quality forage production- stock selection calving and more – Are you wanting to create a herd of cows that eat 20 to 40 percent less? Do you want to see tender and flavorful beef on the hoof? These and many more topics will be covered in this 3-day event, September 29th to October 1st, that combines hands on experience with classroom lectures. The sessions will be held at the Dr. Charles Garrett Community Center at 182 Industrial Drive in Jonesboro, Louisiana. The cost is 125.00 for all 3 days and includes lunch.

No-Till Vegetable Production with Jesse Frost. Jessi Frost, Author of the “Living Soil Handbook” and host of The No-Till Market Garden Podcast, will conduct a 3-day workshop October 6-8th at the Dr. Charles H Garrett Community Center at 182 Industrial Drive in Jonesboro, Louisiana. Do you want to grow more nutrient-rich food without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides? We believe No-Till Vegetable Production can be profitable at any scale. Profitable No-Till farming builds soil health while reducing input costs. It is better for the land, the farmers, and the community they serve.
